Daisy Is A Flower (Aauzsa Mack blog post 2)

Daisy is a flower not a tease. Daisies are there for beauty and not to please. In the short story, “Daisy Miller”, Daisy is portrayed as a tease. When you think of a daisy I think of a daisy I see a white flower with a yellow center. White equals the main appearance which would automatically attract attention because of the purity that the color white portrays. The yellow reminds me of the sun which is bright and not easily forgotten or missed. All of these things describe Daisy Miller, but in the end she died from being too careless with her beauty. Daisy was just like the flower and wanted and need attention in order to live. You have to tend to the flower in order for it to live and then in the story Daisy needed to be tended to because she had malaria which is not like the common cold that would subside by itself and if the flower does not get its proper watering and sunlight it would eventually die. This is what happened to Daisy Miller, she did not get the proper attention that she wished to have and in return she ended up dying in the end.

  1. I really live Ms.Mack's description of Daisy. She put a lot of thought into the meaning of the name and Daisy's personality. I believe part of the reason Daisy acted the way she did was because she was an American girl and customs in America are obviously very different than they are in those parts of the world. No one in America would think anything of it if they saw a guy and girl walkin around town together but it was very different there. Daisy seemed like an innocent girl that just did not care about other's opinions of her. She knew that the way she acted was inappropriate where she was, but as long as she knew she was innocent that was enough for her.

  2. I believe that daisy was just an ordinary American Girl who was like a flower in that she was pretty, and perhaps charming. Many loved her for her beauty that portrayed and was willing to do anything to make her happy. I feel though she was good looking and vibrant like a flower she also was ordinary like the grass and forgot what lied beneath her and saw not the flowers that she too was under.
